The physical body was an individual's khat, a term that inferred characteristic rot. The ka was the person's doppelgänger, or twofold; it was blessed with all the individual's characteristics and flaws. It is questionable where the ka dwelled during life, however "to go to one's ka" was a code word for death. The ka meant force and success. After death it could eat, drink, and "appreciate the smell of incense.
